Kid-friendly recipes: Sweet potato macaroni that makes a great midweek meal

Today’s recipe is for sweet potato macaroni.

It’s really simple to make and perfect for toddlers and babies.

Sweet potato is loaded with nutritional benefits including being rich in Vitamin D and B6, a great source of fiber, iron and potassium and much more.

It’s delicious, creamy and can be whipped up in minutes. Here’s how.

Sweet potato macaroni recipe

  • Cup of cooked macaroni
  • One sweet potato (medium)
  • 2 tablespoons of grated cheddar
  • A splash of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato puree
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Start by peeling, boiling, and mashing your sweet potato into a puree
  2. Cook your macaroni according to package instructions
  3. In a hot pan, add olive oil or butter, then add your sweet potato mash and mix
  4. Add the milk and season
  5. Mix in the cooked macaroni and a tablespoon of tomato puree
  6. Let cook for one minute
  7. Stir in the grated cheddar and serve
